大廈罪案預防組於2010年1月成立，目的是為及時瞭解住宅大廈內發生的罪案動態，搜集犯罪訊息，協助領導層制定預防及打擊犯罪的策略，同時，推廣社區警務工作，加強與大廈管理員及市民直接溝通，共同維護居住環境的安全。

　　該組由局長負責統籌，為社區警務及公共關係處轄下的常設部門。該組人員日常進行大廈防罪宣傳工作，並聯同各刑偵部門人員定期到各區住宅及商業大廈進行巡查，瞭解和搜集犯罪資訊，及時作出跟進。

       Established in January 2010 by the Judiciary Police, the Crime Prevention Team for Residential Buildings aims to promptly identify crime trends of residential buildings, as well as to collect intelligence for the management to devise effective strategies for the prevention and tackling of crime. This unit is also charged with the duty to promote community policing through stronger communication between security personnel and residents to uphold the safety of neighbourhoods.

       The Team evolved from a part-time to a full-time crime prevention unit and is now a standing unit of the Community Policing and Public Relations Division. Commanded by Director Mr. Sit Chong Meng, it is made up of 18 investigators from various investigative units, with four of them overseeing the Team’s daily operation on a full-time basis. Operations include regular patrols of residential and commercial buildings which allow the Team to gather information related to the security of local neighbourhoods for policing purpose.

     O Grupo de Prevenção Criminal na Área da Habitação foi criado em Janeiro de 2010, tendo como objectivo conhecer atempadamente a situação criminal nas áreas habitacionais e recolher informações úteis, por forma a apoiar a direcção na elaboração de medidas de prevenção e combate a esses crimes. Além disso, serve ainda para divulgar o trabalho de policiamento na comunidade, reforçar o contacto directo com os guardas dos prédios e a população, por forma a defender em conjunto a segurança do prédio em que vivem.

     Este grupo, coordenado pelo Director, é uma subunidade permanente da Divisão de Ligação entre Polícia e Comunidade e Relações Públicas. Os funcionários deste grupo efecutam diariamente campanhas de prevenção criminal em edifícios, deslocando-se periodicamente, em conjunto com o pessoal de diversas subunidades da investigação criminal, aos prédios habitacionais e comerciais para proceder a patrulhamentos, conhecer e recolher informações criminais, bem como dar acompanhamento quando necessário.
