Attending symposium on “Development and challenges of new types of cybercrime” at the series of celebrations for the 35th anniversary of the Academy of Public Security Forces of Macao

The Academy of Public Security Forces of Macao held its 35^th anniversary celebrations on 4^th July 2023, including a flag-raising ceremony and the symposium on “Development and challenges of new types of cybercrime”. The Secretary for Security WONG Sio Chak officiated at the opening ceremony of the symposium, which was attended by guests including the delegation of mainland public security education led by Vice-President LI Shoude of the People’s Public Security University of China, the delegation led by Deputy Secretary LIU Jianhui of the Party Committee of the National Police University for Criminal Justice, as well as Commissioner General LEONG Man Cheong of the Unitary Police Service, Director General VONG Man Chong of the Macao Customs Service, the directorates and representatives of personnel at all levels from the public security authorities. Director SIT Chong Meng of the Judiciary Police also led the personnel to attend.

With the theme of “Development and challenges of new types of cybercrime”, scholars and experts from the mainland, Hong Kong and Macao were invited to present articles covering diverse topics including artificial intelligence, cybercrime, telecommunications fraud and cybersecurity in the symposium. In addition to the on-site event, live-streaming spots were also set up in various public security forces and departments. A total of around 370 persons participated in the symposium.

Head of Cyber Security Division HO Weng Kin of the Judiciary Police was invited to present his paper “Current situation, challenges and prospects of cybersecurity governance mechanism in Macao”, in which he gave an in-depth analysis on the necessity of establishing a cybersecurity protection system in Macao, introduced the cybersecurity governance mechanism of the Macao SAR, the major work progress of the Cybersecurity Incident Alert and Response Centre, the challenges faced at the present stage and prospects of its work, while interactive exchange was also made with the attending guests.

Seminário “Desenvolvimento e desafios dos novos tipos de cibercrimes”, incluído na série das actividades em comemoração do 35.º aniversário da Escola Superior das Forças de Segurança de Macau

Teve lugar no dia 4 de Julho de 2023, na Escola Superior das Forças de Segurança de Macau, uma série de actividades em celebração do 35.º aniversário da mesma escola, incluindo a cerimónia do hastear da bandeira e o seminário “Desenvolvimento e desafios dos novos tipos de cibercrimes”. A cerimónia de abertura do seminário foi presidida pelo Secretário para a Segurança, WONG Sio Chak e teve como convidados de honra a delegação da educação de segurança pública da China, liderada pelo Vice-reitor da Universidade Popular de Segurança Pública da China, LI Shoude, a delegação chefiada pelo Vice-secretário do Comité do Partido Comunista do Instituto Central de Oficiais de Polícia Judiciária, LIU Jianhui, o Comandante-geral dos Serviços de Polícia Unitários, LEONG Man Cheong, o Director-geral dos Serviços de Alfândega, VONG Man Chong e, ainda, os representantes dos dirigentes da tutela da segurança e do pessoal de níveis diferentes. Os funcionários da PJ que estiveram presentes no evento foram liderados pelo seu Director, SIT Chong Meng.

O seminário teve por tema “Desenvolvimento e desafios dos novos tipos de cibercrimes”, para o qual foram convidados académicos e especialistas oriundos da China continental, Hong Kong e Macau para apresentarem os seus artigos abrangendo várias vertentes, nomeadamente inteligência artificial, cibercrime, burla telefónica e cibersegurança. Este seminário, para além de ser realizado in loco, disponibilizou a transmissão ao vivo online nas instalações das forças e dos serviços de segurança, totalizando-se aproximadamente 370 pessoas que participaram no evento.

O chefe da Divisão de Cibersegurança, HO Weng Kin apresentou, a convite, a dissertação intitulada “Situação actual, desafios e perspectivas do mecanismo de gestão da cibersegurança de Macau”, onde foi analisada, profundamente, a necessidade da criação em Macau dum sistema de salvaguarda da cibersegurança, e também foram explicados o mecanismo de gestão da cibersegurança na RAEM, as principais acções desenvolvidas pelo Centro de Alerta e Resposta a Incidentes de Cibersegurança, os desafios que se enfrentam na fase actual e as perspectivas do trabalho em causa. O mesmo responsável teve, ainda, uma interacção com os convidados presentes.
