我接到管理員電話通知我家被爆竊，他已代我報警，為何司警一定要我親自到司法警察局落口供？

根據《刑法典》第198條規定，入屋爆竊屬於公罪，即使被害人（屋主）不追究，有權限機關在獲悉有關罪案發生後，同樣會依職權進行偵查。由於爆竊案的被害人是案件的直接受害者，被害人的口供對偵查工作尤為重要，所以，根據法律規定，被害人需要協助調查，提供證言，以便儘快偵破罪案，將違法者繩之於法，避免再讓其為非作歹，令更多人遭受侵害。

I received a phone call from the building attendant indicating that my apartment had been burgled, and he had reported to the police on my behalf.  Why am I required by the Judiciary Police to arrive in person to make the statement?

According to the stipulation of Article 198 of the Penal Code, burglary is a public crime.  Even the victim (apartment owner) does not pursue the case, the competent authority will, upon acknowledgement of the occurrence of relevant crime, still conduct investigation based on its authority.  Since the victim of a burglary case is directly victimized in the case, the statement of the victim is particularly important to the investigation work.  Therefore, as stipulated by the law, the victim is required to assist in the investigation by providing testimony, so as to solve the criminal case as soon as possible, and bring the perpetrator to justice, while preventing him from further wrongdoings resulting in more victims.

Nos termos do artigo 198.º do Código Penal, o furto cometido por meio de arrombamento em residência é um crime público. Mesmo que a vítima (proprietário) não deseje procedimento criminal contra o autor, o órgão competente, após o conhecimento do facto, deve iniciar a investigação de acordo com as suas competências. Como a vítima do furto é o lesado directo do caso, o seu depoimento é bastante importante para o trabalho de investigação, portanto, de acordo com as disposições da lei, a vítima precisa de colaborar na investigação e prestar depoimento, para que o caso possa ser resolvido quanto antes e os criminosos possam ser entregues à justiça, de forma a evitar que o facto se repita e que mais pessoas sejam prejudicadas.
