我早前被人毆打，現決定到司法警察局報案，請問我是否必須自行提供證據？司法警察局會安排我檢驗傷勢嗎？

傷人罪分為普通傷害身體完整性罪及嚴重傷害身體完整性罪，根據法醫診斷的被害人傷勢輕重而定。本局在接到報案後會儘快安排驗傷以便司法機關對作案者所犯的罪行進行定性，如果被害人能夠儘早報案及提供詳盡資料，將有助於法醫作出準確的判斷，亦有助警方緝拿兇徒。

    The offence of assault is classified into common or aggravated assault causing harm to bodily integrity, based on the extent of injury of the victim as diagnosed by the forensic doctor. The Judiciary Police would arrange an injury assessment soon after the report was received, to render the judicial authority to identify the nature of the crime committed by the perpetrator. If the victim is able to report the case as early as possible and provide detailed information, it would assist the forensic doctor to make an accurate diagnosis and facilitate the police to arrest the culprit.

    Fui agredido há dias e agora decidi fazer queixa na PJ. Quero saber se a prestação de provas é por conta própria. A PJ irá levar-me para um exame médico?

    A agresão física pode ser classificada como ofensas simples e graves à integridade física, isto fica determinado de acordo com a gravidade dos ferimentos diagnosticados por um médico legista. Recebida a queixa, a PJ vai organizar o exame das lesões o mais rápido possível para que o órgão judicial possa qualificar o crime cometido pelo autor. Se o agredido fizer denúncia e facultar informações detalhadas o mais cedo possível, poderá ajudar o médico legista para dar o parecer mais certo, bem como irá contribuir para a detenção do agressor.
