《預防及打擊家庭暴力法》第21條規定，觸犯家庭暴力罪者如按其他法律的規定科處更重刑罰，則適用較重刑罰的規定；但不影響附加刑及禁止親權的適用。

Article 21 of “Law on Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence” states that if perpetrators of domestic violence crime are punishable by a more severe penalty according to the stipulations of another law, the stipulations of the heavier punishment shall apply, without prejudice to the application of additional penalty and prohibition of parental rights.

Nos termos do disposto no artigo 20.º da Lei de Prevenção e Combate à Violência Doméstica, se ao crime de violência doméstica couber pena mais grave por força de outra disposição legal aplica-se esta, sem prejuízo da aplicação do penas acessórias e da inibição do poder paternal.
