Moroccan woman arrested in the crackdown of a case of drug concealment in rag dolls
To combat criminal syndicates’ drug trafficking by air, the Narcotics Division officers of the Judiciary Police reinforced the screening of inbound air passengers based on intelligence, detecting a suspicious female passenger on a flight arriving in Macao from Singapore on the evening of 29th November 2023. Deployment was promptly made, intercepting the involved woman during her entry via Macao International Airport.
Two rag dolls stuffed with cotton were found in her suitcase. Inspection showed anomalies in the weight of the dolls, the surfaces of which had been seemingly re-stitched. They were thus taken apart, respectively exposing 45 and 60 oval-shaped objects, which were ascertained, upon emergency examination by the Forensic Science Department of the Judiciary Police, to be the drug cocaine that collectively weighed 2,303 grams and valued at around MOP 7.6 million.
Denying her perpetration, the involved woman had allegedly received the suitcase containing the involved rag dolls from a man at the airport of Singapore, as instructed by her boyfriend, and taken the suitcase to Macao where further instructions would be given.
The Judiciary Police transferred the involved Moroccan woman to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of illegal trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances, while continuing to pursue the other involved persons and origin of the drug.
