Anti-crime patrol operation – Blitz patrol operation
To enhance the security in the community, the Organized Crime Division of the Judiciary Police mobilized 10 criminal investigators to conduct the anti-crime patrol operation on 28th August 2023.
During the operation, the Judiciary Police personnel intercepted three cross-dressing Filipino men seemingly engaging in prostitution in the vicinity of a building in the Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro district. The three individuals were brought back to their residence for investigation. Five other Filipino men seemingly engaging in prostitution were seized inside the apartment as well. The eight aforesaid men admitted that they had come to Macao to carry out prostitution. Besides, there were signs indicating that the building unit where the eight individuals resided was an illegal guesthouse.
In accordance with the relevant stipulations of “the Law on Prohibition of Providing Illegal Accommodation”, the Judiciary Police notified the Tourism Office and other relevant authorities to seal off the residential apartment. In addition, on the ground of engaging in activities incommensurate with the status of tourists, the Judiciary Police subsequently transferred the eight Filipino men to the Border Control Department of the Public Security Police Force for handling.
