兩內地漢涉高利貸禁錮被捕
本局於9月14日凌晨接獲新口岸區某娛樂場通知,一名內地男事主致電報稱被人禁錮於酒店房間,隨即派員到場救出事主,並拘捕兩名涉案內地男子。調查發現,事主於9月12日晚上向兩名涉案內地男子及其同夥借款50萬港元到百家樂賭臺賭博,被要求簽署借據外,每當賭局8點贏出需被抽取投注額50%作利息,以及還款55萬港元。結果事主全數輸清,被抽取約16.5萬港元利息及帶到酒店房間禁錮,期間事主暗中致電酒店大堂揭發事件。本局以為賭博的高利貸及剝奪他人行動自由罪將上述兩人移交檢察院處理,並追緝在逃者。

The Judiciary Police was notified by a casino in the ZAPE district during the wee hours of September 14th, stating that the mainland male victim called to report that he was imprisoned in a guestroom. Officers were dispatched to rescue the victim immediately, and two involved mainlanders were arrested at the scene. Investigation revealed that the victim borrowed HKD 500,000 from the two involved mainland men and their accomplice to gamble on a baccarat table on the night of September 12th. Other than signing an IOU, the victim was also requested to pay 50% of the bet as interest if the game was won with 8 points, and to repay HKD 550,000. In the end, all of the money borrowed was lost in gambling and HKD 165,000 were withdrawn as interest, and the victim was taken to a guestroom for false imprisonment. The incident was unveiled when the victim secretly made a phone call to the hotel lobby. The Judiciary Police transferred the two aforementioned men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offences of practising usuries for gambling and deprivation of other's freedom of movement while pursuing other absconded suspect.

Pela madrugada de 14 de Setembro, a PJ recebeu a notificação de um casino do ZAPE, indicando que um homem da China continental telefonou e disse que estava sob sequestro num dos quartos do hotel, assim, foram enviados alguns agentes para o local, onde libertaram a vítima e detiveram 2 homens da China continental.
Segundo a investigação, na noite de 12 de Setembro, a vítima pediu aos dois suspeitos e seus cúmplices 500.000 HKD para jogar bacará. Para além de assinar um recibo de dívida, a vítima tinha que pagar 50% do valor de cada aposta ganha como juros e devolver 550.000 HKD. Depois de ter perdido todo o dinheiro, foram-lhe cobrados cerca de 165.000 HKD de juros e os detidos sequestraram-no num dos quartos do hotel, entretanto, a vítima ligou para a recepção e contou o facto. Os dois detidos foram presentes ao MP por agiotagem ligada ao jogo e sequestro, continuando a PJ à procura de outros cúmplices em fuga.
