Professional Experience-sharing Session of Macao’s Public Security Forces and Security Departments 2026

On the morning of 8th October 2026, the Academy of Public Security Forces of Macao (hereinafter referred to as the “ESFSM”) held the “Professional Experience-sharing Session of Macao’s Public Security Forces and Security Departments 2026”, featuring eight personnel from various departments within the security sector who shared their work experiences and insights. The Secretary for Security CHAN Tsz King, the Commissioner General of the Unitary Police Service LEONG Man Cheong, the Director General of the Macao Customs Service Adriano Marques HO, members of the Council, the directorates of various departments in the security sector, representatives of personnel at all levels, and personnel participating via live-streaming spots across various security forces and security departments attended the event. This year’s sharing session invited family members of personnel to attend for the first time, so as to gain a deep understanding of the work situations and the missions undertaken by the forces. In addition, an innovative approach was specially adopted to enable colleagues at the live-streaming spots to communicate directly with the speakers via the internet. With enthusiastic feedback from both online and offline attendees and a lively interactive atmosphere, a total of 1,026 people participated in the sharing session.

Director WONG Chi Fai of the ESFSM stated in his speech that holding the sharing session was one of the crucial measures for building police culture. Not only did this exchange platform allow for the demonstration of the challenges faced by personnel in different professional fields, inspiring new work approaches within departments, promoting team growth and progress, and improving job performance, but it also fostered a positive, collaborative, and united police culture amongst the force, enhancing personnel’s sense of mission and responsibility. In routine work, this embodies the operative principle of “exercising self-discipline in solitude, vigilance in trivialities, and caution in the initial stages” proposed by the Secretary for Security, as well as the police spirit of “loyalty and responsibility; professionalism and competence”.

The topics shared by the eight personnel in order were:

● Customs Sub-inspector CHEANG Hio San of the Macao Customs Service: “Gentle Shoulders Bearing the Heavy Weight, Iron Bones Guarding the National Gate”

●  Senior Technical Officer WONG Hong Neng of the Unitary Police Service: “Guardians from Behind the Scene, Fortifying the Network to Keep It Secure”

● Police Constable LAM Cheng of the Public Security Police Force: “Designing the Link between Police and Public, Boosting Police Work with Professionalism”

● Chief Copywriter AO Mio Wan of the ESFSM: “The Guardian Amongst the Pages of the Book”

● Fire Sub-Chief WONG Hon Chio of the Fire Services Bureau: “United City 2026 – Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cross-Border Joint Rescue Exercise”

● Duty Supervisor MA Wai Hou of the Judiciary Police: “ ‘He’ who disappeared – The Covert Law Enforcer”

● Senior Technical Officer CHAN Keng In of the Macao Security Forces Affairs Bureau: “Guardians Behind the Gateway – Sharing on Land Checkpoint Facility Maintenance Work”

● Secondary Education Teacher Grade 1 HOI Lai Teng of the Correctional Services Bureau: “Upholding the Light of the Heart, Guiding Youths Back to a Fresh Start”

The speakers eloquently recounted the profound experiences and realisations in their personal careers, striving to put the responsibilities of their posts into practice, which moved the attendees.

At the session, the Secretary for Security CHAN Tsz King affirmed the sincere sharing of the eight speakers and their dedicated efforts in their posts, and extended his heartfelt thanks to the family members of the personnel for providing strong support and building the firmest backing for them. The Secretary pointed out that all personnel have upheld the beliefs of “Protecting the Country and Guarding Macao through Loyalty, Integrity, and Pragmatism” in their work, particularly highlighting the spirit of “pragmatism” and the commitment of “public servants”, thereby earnestly implementing the governance philosophy of the current SAR Government. Finally, the Secretary encouraged personnel to continue the maintenance of a proactive and enterprising mindset and to jointly safeguard a favourable governance environment.

During the interactive exchange session, the presenters engaged in heartfelt dialogues with attendees on-site and at the live-streaming spots, discussing the anecdotes and feelings of their work in a lively and harmonious atmosphere. Through the sincere communication between the speakers and attendees, the attendees genuinely felt that colleagues from different posts still strive forward in the face of operational difficulties, demonstrating a resilient spirit and bringing positive energy to the team’s advancement.

By holding the professional experience-sharing session, the ESFSM has strengthened the police beliefs of security personnel, promoted team camaraderie, and consolidated the strength of unity within the force. On the new journey toward the “Third Five-Year Plan”, the Macao Security Forces and security departments will remain true to their original aspirations and missions, and under the leadership of the Secretary for Security, will go all out to safeguard national and societal security.
