Four mainland men arrested for extorting prostitutes

On 20th August 2026, the Judiciary Police received an anonymous report, alleging that some females were conducting prostitution inside a hotel guestroom in ZAPE district.  Judiciary Police officers arrived at the scene for investigation, bringing two mainland men from the room back to the Judiciary Police for follow-up.  It was revealed that someone was fabricating a report due to his failure to extorting the prostitutes.

In-depth investigation revealed that four involved mainland men, before arriving Macao, had been conspiring to engage in prostitute extortion activities.  They arrived Macao successively on August 16th and 17th, targeting at prostitutes nearby various hotels, meeting them in hotel guestrooms for sex transactions, yet refused to settle their sex payments under the pretext of unsatisfactory services, and even blackmailed them to pay additional money by reporting their prostitution activities.

Investigation confirmed that between August 16th and 20th, the four involved men had respectively extorted five prostitutes, and successfully extorted a total of HKD4,200 from three of the prostitutes.  The involved men failed to extort the remaining two prostitutes who stood firm.  The extorted proceeds had been gambled away by the respective persons.

Later, on August 21st, the Judiciary Police intercepted the other two involved men when they were departing Macao via the Hengqin Port.  Upon request, five prostitutes had assisted in the investigation.  There were no signs showing that they had been manipulated for prostitution in the meantime.

The Judiciary Police transferred the four involved men to the Public Prosecutions Office with the charge of extortion.
