- Two Filipino men arrested for aggravated theft
兩菲籍漢涉加重盜竊就逮
2026年8月10日凌晨，事主於新口岸區一酒店附近被兩名作女性打扮的菲律賓籍涉案男子搭訕，對方聲稱可提供按摩服務，三人遂返回事主租住的酒店房間交易。在房間內，事主將藏有5.8萬港元現金的斜揹包放在床上並進入浴室洗澡，其後兩名涉案男子完成按摩，事主從斜揹包內取款時雖察覺有異，仍取出1,000港元給予對方作為服務費，對方在收款後馬上離去。事主隨即點算款項，發現其中4.1萬港元被盜，故到附近街上尋找兩名涉案男子，在同日清晨成功截獲兩人並報警求助。
本局第二統籌科跟進調查，查悉兩名涉案男子乘事主在浴室洗澡期間行竊，並在其租住的同區另一酒店房間內檢獲全部贓款。
本局根據調查所得，以加重盜竊罪將兩名涉案男子移送檢察院偵辦。
Two Filipino men arrested for aggravated theft
During the wee hours of 10th August 2026, the victim was approached by two involved Filipino men dressed as women near a hotel in ZAPE district. They alleged that they could provide massage service, thus the three of them returned to the hotel room that the victim had rented for the transaction. In the room, the victim put his crossbody bag containing HKD58,000 in cash on the bed and went to take a shower in the bathroom. After the two involved men had finished the massage, the victim, though noticing something amiss while taking money from the crossbody bag, still took out HKD1,000 from it to give to the two men as a service fee. The two men left immediately after receiving the money. The victim then counted the money and discovered that an amount of HKD41,000 was stolen. Therefore, he went to the nearby streets to look for the two involved men, and successfully intercepted them on the early morning of the same day. He then reported the case to the police.
The 2nd Section of Coordination of the Judiciary Police followed up with the investigation, and found that the two involved men conducted the theft while the victim was taking a shower in the bathroom. All the stolen money was recovered from another hotel room in the same district that they had rented.
Based on investigative findings, the Judiciary Police transferred the two involved men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of aggravated theft.
