兩內地漢涉假鈔兌換詐騙被拘
2026年6月26日凌晨，本局接獲一名內地女事主來電，報稱在兌換貨幣時被騙，共損失148,240元人民幣，並向本局報案求助。
本局經濟罪案調查處接手調查，發現事主於2026年6月25日晚上7時，在路氹城區某娛樂場內被一名內地男子搭訕，對方訛稱於較早前賭博贏得30萬港元，願以優惠匯率兌換人民幣。雙方經協議以260,400元人民幣兌換30萬港元，事主應對方要求在酒店房間交易。交易期間，涉案男子從背包取出三疊千元港鈔放在房間桌上，拒絕讓事主詳細檢查並催促轉帳。事主轉帳148,240元人民幣後堅持點算桌上現金，才發現鈔票全為同編號假鈔，事主要求退款但遭涉案男子拒絕。涉案男子聯絡另一名男友人到場，惟兩人均表示無法退款，事主遂報警處理。
經本局刑事技術廳檢驗，證實涉案鈔票全為假鈔。鈔票完全沒有真鈔的水印或油墨反光等基本防偽特徵，鈔票顏色、印刷及紙質均與真鈔不同，目測即可辨識。
調查顯示，兩名涉案男子均受內地上線指使，將假鈔帶入本澳，並在娛樂場物色客人兌換以實施詐騙。本局以詐騙（相當巨額）罪將兩名涉案男子移送檢察院偵辦，並追查贓款去向。
Two mainland men nabbed for involvement in counterfeit banknote exchange fraud
In the wee hours of 26th June 2026, the Judiciary Police received a phone call from a mainland female victim, who reported that she had been defrauded while exchanging currency, suffering a total loss of RMB148,240, and sought assistance by reporting the case to the Judiciary Police.
The Economic Crimes Division of the Judiciary Police took over the investigation and discovered that, at 7:00 p.m. on 25th June 2026, the victim was approached by a mainland man inside a casino in the Cotai district. The other party falsely claimed that he had won HKD300,000 from gambling earlier and was willing to exchange RMB at a preferential exchange rate. Both parties agreed to exchange RMB260,400 for HKD300,000, and the victim conducted the transaction in a hotel room at the behest of the other party. During the transaction, the involved man took three stacks of HKD1000 banknotes out of a backpack and placed them on a table in the room, refusing to let the victim examine them in detail and pressuring the victim to transfer the funds. After transferring RMB148,240, the victim insisted on counting the cash on the table, only to discover that the banknotes were all counterfeit banknotes bearing the same serial number. The victim demanded a refund but was refused by the involved man. The involved man then contacted another male friend to proceed to the scene. Yet, both of them stated that they were unable to refund the money. The victim reported the matter to the police forthwith.
Following an examination by the Forensic Science Department of the Judiciary Police, it was confirmed that the involved banknotes were all counterfeit. The banknotes completely lacked basic security features of genuine banknotes, such as watermarks or optically variable ink. The colour, printing, and paper quality of the banknotes were all different from genuine banknotes, making them identifiable by visual inspection alone.
The investigation revealed that the two involved men had been instructed by a mainland upper-level member to bring counterfeit banknotes into Macao and scout for patrons in casinos to exchange the currency, thereby committing fraud. The Judiciary Police transferred the two involved men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of fraud (considerably huge amount), while tracing the whereabouts of the ill-gotten gains.
