內地女子涉不法匯兌就逮
2026年5月12日，本局博彩罪案調查處人員於路氹城區一娛樂場進行針對不法匯兌的巡查打擊行動，其間發現一名涉案內地女子與另一名女子進行不法匯兌，雙方協議以人民幣4,650元兌換5,000港元。涉案內地女子出示二維碼，待對方掃碼完成轉帳後，便將相應的港元現金交予對方。對方收款後，隨即於場內將現金兌換為籌碼用作賭博。
基於有理由相信兩人正進行不法匯兌，本局人員立即採取行動，將兩人截獲並帶返本局調查。經查，涉案內地女子自今年3月初開始在本澳娛樂場內經營不法匯兌，每兌換1萬港元可獲利約120港元，至今合共獲利約1.1萬港元。本局人員從其身上搜獲兩部手機，以及用作經營不法匯兌資金的3.8萬港元現金籌碼及2.8萬港元現金。
本局根據調查所得，以經營為賭博的不法匯兌罪將上述涉案內地女子移送檢察院偵辦。
Mainland woman arrested for illegal currency exchange
On 12th May 2026, when officers of the Gaming-related Crimes Division of the Judiciary Police were conducting patrol and combat operation against illegal currency exchange in a casino located in Cotai district, the involved mainland woman was discovered to be conducting illegal currency exchange with another woman. The duo agreed to exchange HKD5,000 with RMB4,650. The involved mainland woman presented a QR code, waited for the other party to scan and complete the transfer, then handed over the equivalent amount of HKD in cash to her. Upon receiving the funds, the other party forthwith exchanged the cash to chips for gambling inside the casino.
Based on the reasons to believe that the duo were conducting illegal currency exchange, the Judiciary Police officers immediately took actions, intercepting the duo and brought back to the Judiciary Police for investigation. Subsequent to investigation, it was revealed that the involved mainland woman had been operating illegal currency exchange in Macao casinos since early March 2026. Around HKD120 would be rewarded for each HKD10,000 exchanged, while around HKD11,000 of rewards in total had been received up to the present. Two mobile phones, along with HKD38,000 in cash chips and HKD28,000 in cash, which were funds used for operating illegal currency exchange, were seized from her by the Judiciary Police officers.
Based on investigative results, the Judiciary Police transferred the involved mainland woman to the Public Prosecutions Office with the charge of operating illegal currency exchange for gambling.
