Macao woman nabbed for involvement in offences such as aggravated theft and fraud

On the afternoon of 20th March 2026, the Judiciary Police received a complaint from a Macao man, who reported that two wristwatches had been stolen from his residence. Case details revealed that, in the wee hours of that day, when the victim took off one of his wristwatches and placed it back in the bedroom wardrobe, he discovered that the other wristwatch, which he had lent to his live-in girlfriend, had vanished without a trace. Until the morning of the same day, after waking up, he found that the wristwatch he had taken off before going to bed was also missing. At the same time, he was unable to contact his girlfriend. Thus, he suspected that she had stolen both wristwatches, resulting in a loss of MOP305,910.
The 4th Section of Coordination of the Judiciary Police followed up with the investigation. On the morning of 23rd March 2026, the involved Macao woman was seized in the Taipa district. Investigation revealed that, the involved woman had stolen the two wristwatches from the victim’s residence and subsequently pawned them. The ill-gotten gains of HKD210,000 had been entirely gambled away in a casino. Subsequently, personnel of the Judiciary Police recovered the two involved wristwatches from two pawnshops successfully.
Based on investigative findings, the Judiciary Police transferred the involved woman to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offences of aggravated theft, abuse of trust and fraud.
