本局根據調查所得,以經營為賭博的不法匯兌罪將涉案內地男子移送檢察院偵辦。
Mainland man arrested for illegal currency exchange

On 12th January 2026, personnel of the Organised Crime Division of the Judiciary Police found two men acting suspiciously while conducting a patrol and combat operation targeting illegal currency exchange in the vicinity of a casino in Cotai district. The involved mainland man entered an account number on the male patron’s phone before returning it to him for operation. Subsequently, the two men proceeded to the casino cage together, where the involved mainland man exchanged HKD50,000 for chips, handed them to the patron and then left. Crime-related cash amounting to HKD75,900 and chips worth HKD600 were found in the possession of the involved mainland man, while remaining chips worth HKD20,000 after gambling, were recovered from the patron. Investigation revealed that the involved mainland man had operated illegal currency exchange business in casinos in Macao and nearby areas since the beginning of December 2025.
