四本澳男女涉不法匯兌就逮
2025年4月中旬，本局接獲情報指路氹城區一娛樂場附屬酒店內有珠寶店從事不法匯兌活動。10月23日，本局有組織罪案調查處人員到上址進行調查，期間發現兩名賭客從該店兌得港元現金後隨即到娛樂場賭博，故馬上採取行動截查店內三男一女本澳職員及兩名賭客，並在店內檢獲與犯罪相關的189萬港元及2.2萬元人民幣。
經查，涉案珠寶店從2023年4月下旬起在上址經營不法匯兌，自現行《打擊不法賭博犯罪法》生效至今其營業額約4,500萬港元，從中獲得不法利益150萬港元。
本局根據調查所得，以經營為賭博的不法匯兌罪將四名涉案本澳男女移送檢察院偵辦。
Four Macao residents arrested for illegal money exchange
In mid-April 2025, the Judiciary Police received a tip-off that a jewelry shop in an ancillary hotel of a casino in Cotai was engaged in illegal money exchange activities. On October 23rd, personnel of the Organised Crime Division conducted investigation at the site. During that time, they found two casino patrons exchanged some Hong Kong dollars in cash at the shop and then proceeded to the casino to gamble. Immediate actions were taken to intercept three male and one female local employees of the shop and two casino patrons, seizing HKD1.89 million and RMB22,000 crime-related funds at the shop.
Investigation revealed that the involved jewelry shop had been operating illegal money exchange at the above site since the end of April 2023. Since the current “Law on Combatting Illegal Gambling” came into effect, its turnover had been HKD45 million approximately, with illegal profits of HKD 1.5 million.
Based on investigative findings, the Judiciary Police transferred the four involved local men and women to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of operating illegal money exchange for gambling.
Detidos quatro residentes de Macau por troca ilegal de dinheiro
Em meados de Abril de 2025, a PJ recebeu informações indicando que numa joalharia de um hotel no Cotai existiam actividades de troca ilegal de dinheiro. Em 23 de Outubro, o pessoal da Divisão de Investigação e Combate ao Banditismo deslocou-se ao hotel para proceder à investigação. Verificou-se que dois apostadores fizeram troca de dinheiro dentro da joalharia e depois levaram os HK dólares para ir jogar. A PJ entrou em acção e interceptou três homens e uma mulher (funcionários da joalharia), todos residentes de Macau e dois apostadores. Foram apreendidos dentro da joalharia 1,89 milhões HKD e 22 mil RMB, todo o dinheiro é relacionado com este caso.
A joalharia era, desde finais de Abril de 2023, um local de exploração de câmbio ilícito. Desde a entrada em vigor da “Lei de combate aos crimes de jogo ilícito” até agora já tinham cerca de 45 milhões HKD do volume de negócios e destes, 1,5 milhão HKD obtido de forma ilegal.
Conforme o que foi apurado na investigação, foram presentes os quatro detidos ao Ministério Público acusados de exploração de câmbio ilícito para jogo.
