On 5th April 2023, the Judiciary Police received a report from a mainland man who indicated that he had got acquainted with the involved local man in March 2022, the latter claimed that he could assist mainland residents to work as construction site workers in Macao. Each applicant had to pay RMB2,500 to RMB2,700 for the application fee of work permits in order to come to work in Macao within two months. The male victim transferred the identity information of 38 relatives and friends, coupled with a total of RMB94,020 application fee to the involved man. The Judiciary Police transferred the involved man to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of fraud.
