Anti-crime patrol operation – Patrolling Taipa Ferry Terminal checkpoint with Macao Customs Service
In response to the facts that Macao has gradually resumed comprehensive opening of borders with the neighbouring regions and newly packaged electronic cigarettes with probable infiltration of banned substances by criminals have recently been found in the mainland, as well as the Hong Kong SAR has regulated products containing Cannabidiol (CBD) since 1st February 2023, the Judiciary Police made policing deployment jointly with Macao Customs Service to prevent and combat criminals from smuggling products and electronic cigarettes containing CBD ingredients to Macao.
At five o’clock in the afternoon on 1st February 2023, the Judiciary Police and Macao Customs Service jointly conducted spot checks on the entrants at the Taipa Ferry Terminal checkpoint. During the operation, the personnel of the Judiciary Police discovered that a man had brought an electronic cigarette with him to Macao and he was immediately transferred to Macao Customs Service for follow-up. Upon examination, the abovementioned electronic cigarette was confirmed to contain no banned substances.
The Judiciary Police will continue to implement pro-active policing work policy to perfect law-enforcement deployment and enhance law and order in the community.
