Anti-crime patrol operation – patrolling multiple immigration checkpoints in Macao
In response to the progressive and comprehensive resumption of normal travel between Macao and the neighbouring regions, along with the recent discovery of newly packaged vapes in mainland which might have been blended with illegal substances by lawbreakers, as well as cannabidiol (CBD) to be included as controlled substances in Hong Kong SAR commencing 1st February 2023, the Macao Judiciary Police has launched its relevant policing deployment so as to prevent and combat the smuggling of products and vapes containing CBD to Macao by criminals for stockpiling and trafficking.
On 30th January 2023 at 6pm, the Judiciary Police dispatched criminal investigative personnel to patrol multiple immigration checkpoints in Macao, focusing on the interception of people entering Macao. A total of 39 persons (32 men and 7 women) were stopped and questioned in this operation, while no one was brought back to the Judiciary Police for further investigation.
The Judiciary Police will continue to practise its working policy of proactive policing, while sustaining optimization of policing work and endeavouring to provide a safe environment suitable for living and travelling to our residents and tourists.
