Four Indonesians arrested for profiteering and improper detention of identification documents
On 31st October 2021, the Public Security Police Force referred a profiteering case to the Judiciary Police that seven Indonesian female non-resident workers had respectively borrowed money from a countrywoman between May and September 2021 under the conditions that they had to surrender their passports and pay a monthly interest of MOP300 for each MOP1,000 of loan. The seven individuals had cleared their debts and interests by the end of October, yet the female moneylender refused to return their passports while demanding more interests. The seven therefore reported to the police for assistance.
Subsequent to in-depth investigation, the Judiciary Police confirmed five involved persons altogether. The involved Indonesian man and three Indonesian women were successively captured on November 1st and 2nd in various locations in Macao, with ledgers and eight passports of other people seized. The involved persons admitted perpetration and were transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office by the Judiciary Police with the charges of profiteering and improper detention of identification documents while pursuing the other involved persons.
Assim, as sete fizeram queixas.
