On 5th April 2015, a mainland woman reported a case to the Judiciary Police, stating that she had been defrauded of a batch of jade artefacts worth around RMB 2.3 million by a mainland man on the pretext of assisting in selling them.
Investigation revealed that the female victim ran a jade business in the mainland. She got acquainted with the involved man, who claimed to be a chip roller in a casino junket, in Macao in October 2014 and had sold three pieces of jade artefacts successfully via the involved man. By the end of the same year, the involved man falsely claimed that there was a potential buyer to lure the victim to bring around 30 pieces of jade artefacts to Macao, then he took six pieces of the artefacts worth a total of around RMB 2.3 million away allegedly for the buyer to choose.
