男子涉虛擬貨幣詐騙被拘
2018年4月18日，本局獲悉一家科技公司在本澳舉辦虛擬貨幣認購發佈會，聲稱與本澳娛樂場貴賓廳合作，發行一種可全球兌換並用作網上賭博的虛擬貨幣，遊說出席的公眾認購。本局主動立案偵查，發現該公司並未與本澳任何娛樂場貴賓廳合作開發虛擬貨幣項目，懷疑當中涉及詐騙行為。
本局鎖定相關涉案人士的身份，於同日晚上其中一名涉案本澳男子經關閘口岸離澳時將其截獲。涉案男子否認犯案，聲稱僅協助內地友人籌辦發佈會，惟本局查悉涉案男子曾伙同十多名在逃涉案人士，冒充某知名娛樂場貴賓廳及內地企業訂購致賀發佈會的花牌，意圖製造出該貴賓廳合作進行相關項目的假象，誘騙公眾認購。
本局以犯罪集團罪和詐騙罪將涉案男子移送檢察院處理，並追緝在逃涉案人士。
Man arrested for involvement in virtual currency fraud
On 18th April 2018, the Judiciary Police learnt that a technology company was holding a launch session about virtual currency subscription in Macao. The company claimed that it was in cooperation with Macao casino junkets in issuing a virtual currency which could be exchanged globally and used for online gambling, pitching subscription to the public audience. The Judiciary Police initiated an investigation into the case and found that the company had yet to cooperate with any Macao casino junket in developing the virtual currency project and suspected that fraud was involved.
The Judiciary Police identified the involved individuals and intercepted one of the involved Macao men when he departed Macao via the Border Gate Checkpoint in the evening on the same day. The involved man denied to have committed the crime and claimed that he solely assisted his mainland friends in organizing the launch session. However, the Judiciary Police detected that, the involved man together with more than 10 involved individuals at large, had pretended to be some renowned casino junkets and mainland enterprises in placing orders for congratulatory flower stands for the launch session, with the intention to create an illusion that these casino junkets were in cooperation in carrying out the relevant project, so as to entice the public to subscribe for the virtual currency.
The Judiciary Police transferred the involved man to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charges of criminal syndicate and fraud, while pursuing the involved individuals at large.

Em 18 de Abril de 2018, PJ foi informada de que uma empresa de tecnologia estava a realizar em Macau uma conferência de imprensa sobre a subscrição de criptomoedas, alegando ter cooperado com as salas VIP de alguns casinos de Macau, divulgando uma moeda de cariz digital que pudesse ser trocada globalmente e usada como investimento no jogo online, para angariar subscrição pública. A PJ descobriu-se que não existia qualquer cooperação com aquele projecto entre aquela empresa e qualquer sala VIP dos casinos de Macau, sendo assim, houve suspeita de tratar-se de uma burla.
Na mesma noite conseguiu-se identificar os suspeitos, um deles, residente de Macau, ao sair pelas Portas do Cerco, foi interceptado. Este negou e alegou que apenas ajudaria amigos da China continental para organizar a conferência de imprensa. Porém, a PJ apurou que este e mais de 10 indivíduos em fuga, encomendaram coroas de flores para esta conferência, em nome das salas VIP de um casino bem conhecido e empresas do continente, com a intenção de simular uma colaboração das salas VIP neste projecto para fomentar a subscrição pública.
O detido foi presente ao MP por associação criminal e burla, a PJ continua à procura dos outros suspeitos em fuga.
