刑偵人員涉袒護他人被拘
2018年1月，本局接獲情報，指一名執法人員涉嫌收受利益，向高利貸集團提供警方資料，協助對方逃避偵查和刑責。經調查後，確定局內一名刑事偵查員涉案，並發現其按照高利貸犯罪集團的骨幹成員指示，查探一宗於本年3月中偵破的高利貸、禁錮案的調查資料和進展。
同時，本局透過內部監察機制，發現涉案刑事偵查員不法登入本局電腦和在未獲授權的情況下企圖違規查閱卷宗。
經深入調查後，確定涉案刑事偵查員違反職業義務，企圖為自己獲得不法利益，以及為使犯罪集團逃避本局追查，以欺騙手段不法查閱卷宗調查資料，再向犯罪集團骨幹成員披露。
本局於4月4日採取行動，對涉案刑事偵查員傳召助查，於調查期間，其承認犯罪，但未有如實交代犯罪原因，本局將以公務員袒護他人、不當進入電腦系統、不當獲取電腦資料等罪移送檢察院，並進一步調查涉案刑事偵查員在犯罪集團內的角色以及追查其他成員的身份和下落。
本局對於有刑事偵查員涉嫌收受不法利益絕不姑息，已就事件展開刑事調查，同時開立紀律程序，並嚴詞提醒全局人員必須遵守法紀。
Criminal investigator arrested for involvement in personal favouritism
In January 2018, the Judiciary Police received a tip-off that a law enforcement officer was suspected of accepting benefits and providing police information to a loan sharking syndicate, so as to assist the syndicate to evade investigation and criminal responsibility. After investigation, the involved criminal investigator was identified. It was found that, he followed the instructions of a key member of the loan sharking criminal syndicate to probe into the investigative details and progress of a usury and false imprisonment case which was cracked in mid-March 2018.
At the same time, through internal monitoring mechanism, the Gaming-related Crimes Division of the Judiciary Police found out that the involved criminal investigator had illegally logged into the computer of the Judiciary Police and attempted to access the information of the dossier illegally without authorization.
After in-depth investigation, it was confirmed that the involved criminal investigator was in breach of professional duties and attempted to gain illegal benefits for himself. In addition, to order to facilitate the criminal syndicate in dodging the investigation of the Judiciary Police, he accessed the investigative details of the dossier through deceptive means, and disclosed the information to the key member of the criminal syndicate afterwards.
The Judiciary Police took action on April 4th, and summoned the involved criminal investigator to assist in the investigation. During the course of the investigation, he confessed to have committed the crime, but failed to give a truthful account of why he had committed the crime. The Judiciary Police transferred the involved criminal investigator to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charges of practising personal favouritism by a civil servant , improper access to computer system and improper procurement of computer data, while further investigating the role of the involved criminal investigator in the criminal syndicate, as well as pursuing the identities and whereabouts of other syndicate members.
The Judiciary Police will absolutely not tolerate the criminal investigator who was suspected of accepting illegal benefits. A criminal investigation has already been launched for this incident, while disciplinary proceeding has been initiated at the same time. The Judiciary Police remind all personnel once again that, they are required to abide by the law.

Em Janeiro de 2018, a PJ recebeu informações dizendo que um agente da autoridade, era suspeito de receber vantagens ilícitas de um grupo de agiotagem em troca de informações policiais, ajudando este grupo a escapar-se às investigações e eventuais responsabilidade penais. Na investigação preliminar, conseguiu-se identificar o investigador criminal da PJ, descobriu-se que este terá seguido as indicações dadas por um dos membros principais daquele grupo, tentando saber o andamento e as informações relativas a um processo de agiotagem e sequestro aberto em meados de Março.
Ao mesmo tempo, a PJ, através do mecanismo da supervisão interna, reparou que o suspeito tinha tido acesso ilegalmente ao sistema informático internos e tinha tentado consultar o processo sem autorização.
Na investigação confirmou-se a violação do seu dever profissional, o suspeito tentou obter vantagens indevidas, ajudando o grupo a escapar à investigação da PJ, consultou ilegalmente as informações relativas ao processo, para as passar àquele elemento do grupo.
A PJ entrou em acção no dia 4 de Abril, convocou o investigador para o interrogatório, em que ele confessou, mas não revelou os motivos que o levaram à prática deste crime. O detido foi presente ao MP por favorecimento pessoal praticado por funcionário, acesso ilegítimo a sistema informático e obtenção ilegítima de dados informáticos. A PJ ainda está a investigar o papel deste investigador no grupo e continua à procura dos outros cúmplices e seus paradeiros.
Relativamente à recepção de vantagem ilícita de um investigador criminal, a PJ é firme na sua posição de não indulgência e intolerância, investigou e instaurou um processo disciplinar relativo a este caso, sem esquecer de relembrar a todo o pessoal da PJ o respeito pela lei e a disciplina.
