本澳男子涉詐騙被拘
2018年3月6日，三名男事主帶同涉案男子前來本局報案，稱被涉案男子藉兌換外幣詐騙220萬港元。
調查發現，涉案男子訛稱可以比市場價格低15%兌換率價兌換外幣，先收取三名事主款項，並出示支票證明其具有退款能力，以博取事主信任，然後不斷藉故拖延；有關贓款被涉案男子用於償還債務及賭博。
調查期間，本局揭發涉案男子曾以同類手法詐騙另外五名事主，涉款合共約47萬港元。本局以詐騙（相當巨額）罪將涉案男子移送檢察院偵辦。
Local man arrested for fraud
Three male victims brought the involved man to the Judiciary Police to file a complaint on 6 March 2018, claiming that the latter had defrauded them of HKD 2.2 million on the pretext of exchanging foreign currencies.
Investigation revealed that the involved man had alleged to be able to exchange foreign currencies at a rate 15% lower than that of the market. He had first collected payments from the three victims and shown them a cheque to prove his repayment capacity and gain their trust. He then stalled the repayment with various excuses; the involved man had used the criminal proceeds for repaying debts and gambling.
During investigation, the involved man was found to have defrauded five other victims of a total of around HKD 470,000 in the same manner. The Judiciary Police transferred him to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of fraud (massive amount).
Detido um residente por burla
Em 6 de Março de 2018, três homens levaram um indivíduo à Polícia Judiciária onde apresentaram uma queixa indicando que este os tinha burlado, recorrendo à troca de divisas, em 2.2 milhões dólares de Hong Kong.
Na investigação, descobriu-se que o suspeito tinha afirmado poder efectuar trocas a uma taxa cambial 15% inferior à do mercado, e que recebeu o dinheiro das três vítimas e mostrou-lhes um cheque para provar a sua capacidade de devolução do dinheiro, para ganhar a confiança delas. Posteriormente, utilizou várias desculpas para adiar o câmbio, uma vez que o dinheiro burlado já tinha sido utilizado para pagar as dívidas e jogar.
Ficou ainda apurado que o suspeito tinha burlado, utilizando um modus operandi semelhante, outros cinco indivíduos, num valor envolvido que ronda os 470.000 dólares de Hong Kong. O detido foi presente ao Ministério Público por burla em valor consideravelmente elevado.
