內地漢涉將假貨幣轉手被拘
2024年8月24日，本局接獲一娛樂場舉報，指有人在娛樂場帳房行使偽鈔。
案情顯示，涉案內地男子於當日凌晨獨自前往上述娛樂場並出示14張鈔票，要求兌換成1.4萬港元籌碼，惟帳房職員經檢查後發現該批鈔票全為面值1,000元的秘魯幣，並非流通港元，故報警求助。
本局經濟罪案調查處跟進調查並經刑事技術廳鑑定，證實14張涉案鈔票全為已停用的秘魯幣，其中央位置被打印上“香港匯豐銀行”及“港幣壹仟圓”字樣，屬偽造貨幣；而涉案內地男子則拒絕配合調查。
本局根據調查所得，以將假貨幣轉手罪將涉案內地男子移送檢察院偵辦。
Mainland man arrested for passing on counterfeit currency
On 24th August 2024, the Judiciary Police received a report from a casino, alleging that someone had used counterfeit banknotes in the cage of the casino.
Case details revealed that the involved mainland man proceeded to the aforesaid casino alone in the early hours of that day and presented 14 banknotes, requesting for exchange into HKD14,000 worth of chips. However, upon checking, the cage staff member found that the banknotes were all Peruvian currency with a face value of PEN1,000, which were not Hong Kong dollars in circulation, hence reported to the police for assistance.
The Economic Crimes Division of the Judiciary Police followed up the investigation and subsequent to the examination by the Forensic Science Department, it was confirmed that the 14 banknotes in question were all discontinued Peruvian currency with the words “Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited” and “Hong Kong Dollar One Thousand” printed in the centre of the banknotes, which were deemed falsification of currency. The involved mainland man refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Based on the investigative results, the Judiciary Police transferred the involved mainland man to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of passing on counterfeit currency.

No dia 24 de Agosto de 2024, a PJ recebeu a queixa dum casino que dizia que alguém estaria a usar notas falsas na sua tesouraria.
Conforme conta nas informações, um homem da China continental chegou ao casino naquela madrugada, mostrou 14 notas e pediu que fossem convertidas para fichas no valor de 14 mil HKD. O funcionário da tesouraria examinou o dinheiro e verificou que todo esse dinheiro não era em notas de HKD mas sim em notas com valor facial de 1.000 novos sóis peruanos que não têm curso legal, por isso pediu a intervenção da polícia.
A Divisão de Investigação de Crimes Económicos acompanhou o caso e, quando o Departamento de Ciências Forenses realizou o exame das 14 notas, apurou que estas eram a antiga moeda peruana fora de circulação e tinham impressas, no centro das mesmas, as palavras “Banco HSBC de Hong Kong” e “1.000 Dólares de Hong Kong”, e, por isso, que eram notas falsas. Além disso, o homem do continente recusou-se a cooperar na averiguação.
De acordo com o apurado na investigação, o homem foi presente ao MP por passagem de moeda falsa.
