Two men reported to the Public Security Police Force on 18th April 2024 that the cash in their duffel bags placed on the luggage rack had been stolen during their flight from Singapore to Macao. The first victim had suffered a loss of SGD 4,450 and USD 800, while the second a loss of SGD 2,000. A witness onboard the aircraft saw the involved man rummaging through the victims’ luggage. The case was subsequently handed to the Judiciary Police for in-depth investigation.
During investigation, another passenger from the same flight reported to the Judiciary Police, alleging that HKD 31,000 had been stolen from the wallet inside his backpack.
Earlier, the Judiciary Police had also received two similar reports of in-flight thefts:

Meanwhile, upon examination and analysis of the information of similar cases, the suspect was found involved in two other in-flight thefts.

Based on investigative results, the Judiciary Police transferred the involved mainland Chinese man to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of aggravated theft.
