Anti-crime patrol operation – eight female prostitutes intercepted
To enhance the public security in Macao, the Organized Crime Division of the Judiciary Police mobilised multiple criminal investigators to conduct anti-crime patrol operations in the hotels and their peripheries along the Cotai District on 19th and 21st March 2024.
During the operations in these two days, a total of 8 female mainlanders suspected of prostitution were intercepted, with each transaction charging between HKD800 and HKD2,000.
The personnel of the Judiciary Police brought the 8 individuals back to the Judiciary Police. Upon completion of identity verification and investigation procedures, no involvement of other criminal offences was found. However, in view of their engagement in activities apparently inconsistent with the permitted purpose of stay in Macao, they were all transferred to the Border Control Department of the Public Security Police Force for handling in accordance with the stipulations of Law No. 16/2021.
