Mainland man arrested for pawning counterfeit watch to commit fraud
On 16th March 2024, the Judiciary Police received a report from a pawnshop employee, claiming that the pawnshop was defrauded by two mainland men by pawning a counterfeit watch. Case details revealed that the involved mainland man and another involved person at large went to the above-mentioned pawnshop on 23rd November 2023. The involved mainland man handed a wrist watch to the pawnshop employee, while the other involved person at large provided identity documents for registration. Based on investigative findings, he was transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office with the offence of fraud (considerably huge amount). The Judiciary Police would continue to investigate the case and pursue the other involved persons at large.
