To enhance the social security in Macao, the Organized Crime Division of the Judiciary Police deployed criminal investigators to conduct anti-crime patrol operation on the morning of 3rd March 2024.
In the operation, the personnel of the Judiciary Police intercepted two mainland women, who were suspected of engaging in prostitution, in two hotels at ZAPE. Thus, they were brought back to the Judiciary Police for further investigation. After investigation, both of them admitted that they came to Macao for engaging in prostitution, charging MOP 200 to MOP 300 each transaction.
Upon completion of the identity verification and investigation procedures, the above two mainland women were not found involved in other criminal offences. However, in view of their engagement in activities apparently inconsistent with the permitted purpose of stay in Macao, they were transferred to the Border Control Department of the Public Security Police Force for handling in accordance with the stipulations of Law No. 16/2021.
