Judiciary Police busted a drug trafficking case involving marijuana oil, with a Vietnamese woman arrested
The Narcotics Division personnel of the Judiciary Police received intelligence some time ago, indicating that a Vietnamese woman had been selling marijuana oil drugs to her fellow countrymen and friends under the disguise of “fruit oil” in the Central district. The involved woman was identified after in-depth investigation and deployment was thus made.
In the wee hours of 18th January 2024, the Judiciary Police personnel intercepted the involved woman in the vicinity of her residence, with seizure of 13 bottles of marijuana oil with a capacity of about 10 ml each, as well as packaging tools including plastic bottles and cartons in her residence. Her stash of 10 bottles of marijuana oil of the same type was subsequently seized in a street hideaway in the Central district. Emergency examination by the Forensic Science Department of the Judiciary Police confirmed that the abovementioend 23 bottles of marijuana oil contained “MDMB-4en-PINACA”, which was a new psychoactive substance of synthetic cannabinoids and newly-added controlled substance under Law No. 17/2009 of “Prohibition on Illegal Production, Trafficking and Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances”, as amended by Law No. 18/2023. The approximate value of this haul of 23 bottles of synthetic cannabinoid oil was MOP11,000.
Upon investigation, the involved woman admitted that the batch of drugs was possessed by her, claiming that she had been selling the related drugs in Macao according to her boyfriend’s instructions, and had sold more than 80 bottles of the drugs so far, yet she refused to disclose the details of her drug trafficking. Her urine test yielded a negative result for drugs.
Based on the investigative results, the Judiciary Police transferred the involved woman to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, while continuing to pursue the remaining involved individuals and origin of the drugs.
