Mainland Chinese man arrested in the rapid joint crackdown of a homicide case by the police of Guangdong and Macao
The Public Security Police Force notified the Judiciary Police on the morning of 12th June 2021 that a cleaner might have found human body parts on the slope near Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho in Taipa. Officers deployed to investigate at the scene deduced from on-site evidence that the case involved homicide. Crime scene investigation procedure for serious crimes was instantly launched. On-site search joined by the Police Dog Unit of the Public Security Police Force successively uncovered 10 pieces of female body parts and a backpack containing identification documents and blood-stained clothes. Examination on the physical evidence and forensic results provided by the medical examiner collectively confirmed the female victim’s identity and the time of her death.
In view of the severity of the case, the Judiciary Police conducted searches more extensively, while analyzing and studying the case details. A man was found to have entered a hotel room in Cotai with the victim on the afternoon of June 11th, after which the involved man left alone for purchasing a suitcase and knives. Dragging a heavy suitcase that evening, he took a taxi to the central of Taipa, wherefrom he walked to the site where he abandoned the body. He then returned to the hotel by taxi with a lighter suitcase, which he again carried to the central of Taipa by taxi in the early hours of the next day and disposed of at the garbage station in the district. He returned to the hotel to change his clothes, walked to and stayed briefly at the bushes near the hotel, before fleeing Macao via Portas do Cerco on the afternoon of June 12th.
The Judiciary Police retrieved the involved suitcase and knives at the aforementioned garbage station and bushes outside the hotel, while identifying the mainland Chinese man involved. The emergency regional policing cooperation mechanism was swiftly initiated to request the mainland Chinese police for assistance in apprehending the man. Under the unified command of the Ministry of Public Security, the coordination of the Public Security Department of Guangdong Province and the deployment of the Public Security Bureau of Zhuhai City, the involved man was seized in Zhongshan City during the wee hours of June 13th. Interrogated by the mainland Chinese police, the involved man admitted to his perpetration, allegedly having grabbed money from the victim after killing her. The Judiciary Police will launch in-depth investigation into the relationship between the perpetrator and the female victim, the motives of perpetration, the amount of robbery, etc.
