A few days ago, the Judiciary Police noticed that a taxi driver had made a call to the TDM current affairs programme “Macau Forum” to make known that he was reviled by two men, self-professed to be “judiciary officers”, during a taxi ride previously because he was unfamiliar with the streets in Macao. The Judiciary Police was highly concerned about the related incident, forthwith establishing a dossier for follow-up investigation. The two aforementioned passengers who reviled the taxi driver were successfully identified, and it was confirmed that the duo did not possess the identity of Macao civil servants. On 9th June 2021, the Judiciary Police intercepted the two involved men in Cotai and Central districts respectively, and brought them back to the Bureau for investigation.
Subsequent to investigation, there were signs indicating that the two involved men had verbally threatened the taxi driver. The Judiciary Police transferred the duo to the Public Prosecutions Office with the offence of coercion, while one of them was additionally charged with the offence of usurpation of duty.
