Local woman arrested for fraudulent job placement
The owner of an employment agency in mainland China reported to the Judiciary Police in February 2021 that he had been defrauded of over RMB 230,000 by a local woman offering fraudulent job placement in Macao.
Investigation revealed that the involved woman had falsely claimed in July 2019 that she could arrange mainland Chinese residents to work in Macao for placement fees ranging from RMB 3,000 to 10,000 for each person. From August to October of the same year, the involved woman assisted in arranging 37 mainland Chinese residents to work in Macao. The victim successively paid placement fees that totaled RMB 238,528 through a third party payment platform, but the 37 persons were never employed in Macao. Being stalled by the involved woman, the victim suspected of fraud and reported to the police.
The involved woman, summoned to assist in investigation by the Judiciary Police on 24th March 2021, admitted to her perpetration. She was transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of fraud (considerably huge amount).
