Several male foreign workers arrested for disseminating pornographic material involving minors
The Judiciary Police was informed by INTERPOL in early August 2020 that someone had disseminated, with internet communications software, two obscene video clips suspectedly involving minors in Macao between April and June 2020. As the case involved pornographic material of minors or sexual assault against children, the deeply concerned Judiciary Police promptly set up a specialized team for investigation. Upon analysis and examining information on the internet, five involved men, all Nepalese foreign workers, were identified and taken in for investigation, along with electronic devices, from their workplace or residence on 15th October 2020.
Upon investigation, four of the men admitted to have received and forwarded the involved videos with internet communications software, despite their denial of gaining any benefit therefrom. The remaining man refused to cooperate, but the Judiciary Police, based on the information provided by INTERPOL, confirmed that he had forwarded the involved videos. From the content of the videos, they were presumably to have been filmed outside Macao and disseminated by the involved men with communications software.
The Judiciary Police transferred the five involved men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of pornographic material related to minors, while tracing the other involved persons.
