Several male foreign workers arrested for disseminating pornographic materials involving minors
On 11th August 2020, the Judiciary Police was notified by INTERPOL, indicating that someone in Macao had been disseminating, through social messaging software, a pornographic video involving a foreign underage girl and a man between April and May this year. Upon analyses and investigations of the internet information, the Judiciary Police confirmed the identities and residences of 12 involved Nepali male foreign workers. On September 28th, the abovementioned 12 persons together with the related electronic devices were brought back to the Judiciary Police for investigation.
Subsequent to interrogation, 10 of the involved persons admitted to have received and forwarded the involved pornographic video, but denied to have received any benefits from it. The remaining 2 involved persons refused to cooperate. However, based on the notification information from INTERPOL, it was confirmed that the duo had forwarded the involved video. According to the content of the involved video, it was believed that such video was filmed outside Macao, and the perpetrators had released it to one another via group chats.
The Judiciary Police transferred the 12 involved persons to the Public Prosecutions Office for the offence of pornographic materials related to minors, while continuing to pursue the other involved persons.
