Eleven migrant workers arrested for disseminating pornographic material involving minors
The Judiciary Police was notified by INTERPOL on 11th August 2020 that someone had been disseminating, through social messaging software, a pornographic video clip depicting an underage girl and a man in Macao between May and July this year. Upon investigation and analysis, the Judiciary Police grasped clues, taking in 11 involved male Nepalese migrant workers from their respective workplace for investigation on August 24th.
Several involved persons admitted to have forwarded the pornographic video, claiming that it had been forwarded by their colleagues or fellow countrymen overseas through communications software, or downloaded from the internet. Examination into their mobile phones revealed that five of them had received and forwarded the involved pornographic video. Upon investigation, there was no indication that the victimized minor, involved person and shooting location were related to Macao.
The Judiciary Police transferred the 11 involved men to the Public Prosecutions Office for the charge of pornographic material involving minors, while continuing to pursue other involved persons.
