The Youth Counselling Service is a unit devoted to study the strategies to prevent misconduct and criminal activities detected amongst the adolescents and teenagers. Basically, this Service carries out studies to identify the characteristics and trends of juvenile delinquency in Macau, and implement the necessary measures to curb the rate of incidents. To prevent juvenile delinquency, the Youth Counselling Service maintains a rapport with schools, youth organizations and government departments and cooperates with them in showing the youths ways to grow up earnestly. In addition, and to achieve this end, the above service organizes campaigns to promote the law and the law-abiding ground rules; the right and decent concept of walk of life and how to avoid falling on evil courses. These are all done by means of conferences or debates. Legal Aid Department performs under the direct supervision of the Judiciary Police Directorate and its main duties consist in providing legal advice to the entire organic structure of the Judiciary Police, such as: handling litigations; providing legal opinion and drafting of bills; participation in working committees or in any other law related tasks, when dully assigned. |
